Black-bellied Whistling Ducks always put a smile on my face~! We’re so lucky that they breed throughout the southern U.S. and are regulars here in our wetlands and sanctuaries every year. For more info and more of my previous posts on the BBWD, click HERE.
Sweet face!
My thoughts exactly π€
Whistling ducks are my favorite! We have several coming to our yard the past few weeks. In fact, last week I saw one had 9 ducklings with her! It sounds like a bunch of squeaky toys outside. π
Lucky you, Pam! Their ducklings are amazingly cute, arenβt they?
Handsome duckπ
Quite so, Belinda! Thanks for your visit!
What a handsome bird!
I agree, Sue. They always look so well-groomed!βΊοΈ
This beautiful duck is smiling! He has a happy face. Great capture, Carol. π
He truly is a beauty, isnβt he? The Black-bellied whistling ducks are very photogenic. Do you have them in your area, HJ?
I’ve never seen one! π
Next Florida tripβ¦ βΊοΈ
Yes!
As far as ducks go this one certainly is exceptionally attractive, and your image is beautifully composed as well!
Thank you for your kind comments! This duck is so good-looking – and so photogenic – that itβs actually difficult to take a bad picture!π
What a good looker! That’s a happy duck and a nice portrait too.
Thank you, Steve. Yes… the BBWDs almost always appear to be in an upbeat frame of mind π!
Fun close-up of this wonderful duck, BJ. We don’t get the whistling ducks in Calif.; yes you are lucky in the southern U.S. I love to hear them whistle, always brings a smile to my face.
I love their whistling too. We were on the Gulf coast last weekend and saw many of them circling the swamp and whistling away in the tree tops!
Such a happy face indeed! A beautiful capture of a very lovely duck!
Thanks for your visit and your kind comments, Donna. The Whistling Ducks are such fun.
I saw/shot them in Florida several years ago, and was so excited to see them for the first time. Then they took flight and I heard their whistling, I was so amazed! I never got great close-up shots, like yours here that is so stunning, but still nice ones for my ‘lifer file’. π
