~ Insights and inspirations about birding and its connection to my personal life journey.
“And G-d said, Let waters swarm abundantly with moving creatures that have life, and let birds fly above the earth in the open firmament of the heaven. And G-d created the great crocodiles, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind: and G-d saw that it was good.” Bereishit 1:20-21 (Koren Tanakh)

That shot came from one of those crazy moments when somebody suddenly said “There goes a spoonbill!”, and I looked up and just pointed my camera!

Your captures are gorgeous! I’m up on the Chesapeake Bay close to the Blackwater NWR in Cambridge, MD, they have a small flock of White Pelicans that spend their winters there, which is very unusual, since they are usually much further south. They are back again, such a gift for us up here! 🙂

Well I messed up, lol. I thought I was on the White Pelican post. Sorry, I’ll jump over there and do this right this time. 🙂 Glad to be following you!

Where are you in Florida? I want to visit there some day and see all this remarkable bird life!

Hi Susan, I am in Palm Beach County specifically Boynton Beach. At the intersection of Boynton Beach and Delray Beach, there are two incredible constructed wetlands, Green Cay, and Wakodahatchee. Although I take many of my photos at these two places, Palm Beach County and Florida also boast countless other magnificent birding spots. A great resource for the whole state is The Great Florida Birding Trail website, https://floridabirdingtrail.com/go/
