The Book of Kohelet (Ecclesiastes) by King Solomon was read in synagogues around the world this week during the holiday of Sukkot. Kohelet is well known for its verses in Chapter 3 which include. . . “there is a time for every purpose under heaven” (3:1).
As I look around at the inexplicable wonders of nature on my walks this fall, the following verses from Kohelet once again come to mind:
“He made everything beautiful in its time; He has also put an enigma into their minds so that man cannot comprehend what G-d has done from beginning to end.“ (Kohelet 3:11).
“He has also put an enigma into their minds so that man cannot comprehend what G-d has done from beginning to end.“ (Kohelet 3:11).
How can man ever comprehend the enormity of G-d’s work. It is impossible.
