Just a few scenes from one of our favorite Florida birding spots. Even at this time of year, mid-June, when the birds are more scarce, it’s a great place for a day hike!
You and Ellen would love this place! It’s in Lakeland, pretty close to Orlando. And when you go, be sure to check out Lake Apopka which is not too far from there.
That’s a fall or spring trip for us. But yeah, it’s on the list. Actually looking at maps right now for a north trip. Cooler weather, see a mountain 👍 or two. Lowcountry is just sooooo flat 😂😂
It truly is a very inviting and interesting Reserve, Sherry. Several miles of trails, multiple diverse ecosystems, offering different views and kinds of flora and fauna. Maybe you’ll get there one day!
Thank you very much for your thoughtful comments! I certainly hope you and Ted do make a plan to visit sometime, Ellen! There are so many special places in that part of Central Florida.
Thank you, Lee!
Lol, I recall you mentioned one other time that you live not far from Circle B. How fortunate to have such a wonderful place close by. Did you also say you don’t frequent it as often as you did in the past? (Or am I mis-remembering?)☺️
Your memory is working great. 👍 I haven’t been out there for awhile. It was dry quite a bit this winter. Also it is getting harder for me to use my walker out there. That is why we go to Gatorland more. They have boardwalks.
Lovely. Thanks for sharing. C & R: “The Cohen Sisters”, Jerusalem, Israel.

Thank you so much, Roberta! And thank you for visiting! I love seeing that you are from Jerusalem! I have kids who live in Israel and I was supposed to be leaving today for a month-long visit – would have been in Jerusalem next week. Are you a birder? I love birding in Israel…. Such an incredible place for birds!
Glad you enjoyed it, Carol. Interestingly, we just took some photos of a Woodstork doing that ‘yoga pose’ last night. Helps them cool off on these hot, humid Florida summer days and nights.
stunning!

Ha ha! Yes, we call that the yoga pose 😅. It’s one way to cool off if you are a great blue heron. ☺️

Beautiful captures, reflections and info about Circle B Bar Ranch. You’ve shown all the beauty of the location, not just closeups of birds!
I just read your exchange with Ted…I was thinking the same thing — we need to go.

Great photos of a great place. And only 10 miles from me, if you are a crow.

Definitely! Though there is more….. A lot of large birds (and alligators) also sit with their mouths hanging open, which also helps. 🥵😅
