“Every day I walk out into the world / to be dazzled, then to be reflective.” (excerpt from Long Afternoon at the Edge of Little Sister Pond, by Mary Oliver, Owls and Other Fantasies, 2003)
It’s just beautiful to walk here, Roberta, thank you! People often remark that their blood pressure goes down automatically the moment they step foot on the boardwalk!☺️
It is definitely that, Ann! I always do when I walk there. And I think you’re right – that heron was indeed feeling quite dapper – great description ☺️

I’m very fortunate to live only 3 miles from this wonderful location, and can enjoy it almost daily. Certainly agree about Mary Oliver – she was a real treasure!
So sweet. I feel like picking them up and hugging them. r

It looks like the sort of place that would instantly make you feel better. I love the portrait of the heron – looks very dapper!

Thank you, Sue. I am quite sure that Mary Oliver wrote that up on Cape Cod, but I think it applies even here in Florida in September. 😊

Thank you Deborah! I also love Mary Oliver, and wish I had discovered her much earlier in her career than I did.
