Other photographers told me they’d been watching this Red-shouldered Hawk sitting on a favorite snag for over 20 minutes. I took the shot above and almost just walked on – I’m not always patient about waiting for the bird to finally move.
Less than 1 minute later, he took off! Felt like I got there just in time ☺️

I don’t like to wait either, but sometimes I do and am rewarded. Makes me think patience pays off.

These hawks are quite common here. Sometimes their red shoulders Power especially visible.
