Barred Owls are SO good at camouflage! We nearly walked right by this quiet fellow, hiding in plain sight just a few yards off the trail.

We’re fortunate to have several species of owls here and the Barred Owl is one of the regulars.

In the forest deep and still, 🌲🦉 A Barred Owl rests, its presence nil. 🌳 With camouflage that’s hard to beat, 👀 We nearly missed it, just off the street.
Its feathers blend with bark and leaves, 🍂 A master of disguise, it deceives. 🪵 Quiet, calm, and watching keen, 👁️ A woodland spirit, rarely seen.
“Here’s looking at you,” it seems to say, 🦉😉 As hikers wander on their way. 🚶♂️🚶♀️ In nature’s cloak, so smart and wise, 🌲 The Barred Owl hides before our eyes. 🌳
So next time on a wooded trail, 🌾 Look closely at each tree and vale. 🌿 For hidden gems might just appear, 💎 If only we take time to peer. 👀
