I love visiting Circle B bar Ranch Reserve, located not far from Orlando, Florida. Circle B’s 6 miles of trails encompass many diverse habitats, including marshes, swamps, hardwood hammocks, and the 4500-acre Lake Hancock.
Following are just a few of the many delights I saw on a recent visit. ☺️

Thanks for a post that kept me scrolling through the images over and over again. The Red-shouldered Hawk should be printed and framed. The head shot of the Anhinga is wonderful. I was so intrigued by it that I googled it to find out more about it. Expecting it to have long legs like a heron, I was surprised that it does not. Well done! 👏

Thanks Ellen! I forget… is this a spot you and Ted sometimes visit when you’re birding in Florida?

We’ve had it on our list but have never made it there.
I was pleasantly surprised to see so much water in your images after what we saw for low levels in February at Merritt and Orlando Wetlands.

You should definitely make it a point to get there one day! I’m sure you both would enjoy it!
Even though there are some very large ponds and a huge lake at Circle B, the water level in general is extremely low and many areas were completely dried up when I was there last.

Thanks for stopping in, Wally! I was pretty certain this is a familiar place to you folks. You’re a lot closer to it than I am, I think.
I agree – no matter what time of year, there is always something interesting going on.

Lovely photographs of a wonderful collection of birds…I was especially taken with the iridescent feathers of the grackle. And what a great place to be able to visit!

Much appreciated, Ann! The grackle is one of several of our wetland birds whose plumage is beautifully glossy in the sunlight ☀️. This is one of my favorite birding spots – there’s always so much to see.
