I’m going to see if I can rig up a slice of fruit and lay in wait for birds in my backyard. What a clever idea! I always forget about it until someone like you shows the way. 😀🥰
☺️
That is the prettiest little bird! I’ve never seen one.
Glad you like them! Interesting that the Blue-gray Tanagers are really beautiful shades of soft blue, but the Blue-gray Gnatcatchers are much more gray than blue.
It’s a gorgeous bird! Great images of it too!
Thank you so much! This little fella looked a bit forlorn at first when the feeder tray was empty, but he enjoyed the fruit slices. ☺️

I’ve never seen one or even heard of a soft blue Tanager like this until I went to central America. They were plentiful in Panama and in Costa Rica.
They are wonderful!
It’s the color of a blue sky with a few gray clouds. 🙂
What a lovely thought, Tanja. I always have a special feeling for birds that are blue, and this tanager’s powder blue color is especially lovely.
I agree. 🙂
Indeed, it’s a most beautiful bird.. I love the description of it as sky and clouds.
Yes, A perfect description! If we go to South America we may see more!😉
Great captures, Carol. I’ve seen and photographed this bird only in South America. 🙂
Thanks, HJ. I first saw them a couple of years ago in Panama, and couldn’t get over their color! Hoping to get to bird in Ecuador someday☀️
Such a sweet little bird. Lovely photos!
Thanks Belinda. They do seem to have sweet dispositions, too ☺️
What an adorable beauty, the coloring is amazing! Lovely photos!
Thanks, Donna. I love their coloring and their personality. They still make me smile.
Lovely little birds – and lovely photos too! 🙂
Thank you for your visit, Ann. Wishing you you a beautiful day!☀️
You too! 🙂
Wow, what a gorgeous little bird!! 💙
It’s truly charming and its soft blue colors are really heavenly, aren’t they?
Yes, they surely are!!
And photos, of course! Beautiful moments in the scenery!
Wow!
These little beauties were seen from the observation deck at Arenal Observatory Lodge in Costa Rica!
Nice! Thanks for the history!
I realized someone might think these were in my backyard and that I set up this whole feeder system. ☺️
So very pretty – and a new species for me (to go with the blue-gray gnatcatcher)

Wow, what a little beauty, such a soft blue. Great photos.
Thanks for stopping, Sandra. Yes….their color is very unique, isn’t it, even for a blue bird – which are always so special.
