Black-crowned Night Herons usually hide away in the trees during the day and venture out at dusk to forage (FloridaHikes).
This fellow found a nice secluded spot in the shade and was seen striking this same pose every day for awhile.

Very nice image! I also enjoyed watching this Black Cownd Nigh Heron visit the same spot.

Thank you. He was an irresistible little quiet poser… And I’m sure he was a reliable model for many birder/photographers that week!

Me too … and this one was down at the edge of the water right in this same spot, for what seemed like days.

Beautifully captured BJ. Night Herons are always exciting to encounter during the day as they are so recluse usually.
