Green Herons are always so expressive, both in their physical appearance and in their body language.

I can’t help but think this Heron is looking down at his skinny, bare legs and wondering how he can dress a bit more modestly!

Perfect solution! Turning your wings into a floor-length coat works very well!π
He looks angry. Did he eat yet?

I do too, Deborah. Though I must admit a lot of people wonder why theyβre not more green since thatβs the name they were given. π

Mary Beth told me that I slouch a bit. Guess Mr. Greenie and I have a similarity. π

We’re always surprised at how relatively small the Green Heron can appear when he’s hunched down like me when I’m reading a book. Then he lunges out for a snack and we’re again surprised at how long it is!
The subtle hues of its plumage are just astounding!
Thank you for sharing your photographs of Mr. Personality.

So true! And how tall and long-necked they look when stretching upward. . . Especially when their head feathers stand straight up in a sort of punk rocker look!

Thee little Herons do have a stare about them, similar to our Striated counterpart BJ, Loved your little narrative accompanying your excellent shots π
