My husband and I spent last Sunday at a captivating botanical garden located about an hour and a half north of where we live. I hadn’t been there in many years, and it was my husband’s first visit to McKee Botanical Garden.

The Water Lilies are just remarkable at this time of year! I captured a few, but to see really amazing shots, check out this link to the winners of the annual Water Lily Photo Contest.

McKee hosts marvelous installations and exhibitions of all kinds throughout the year, and we were fortunate to be there to witness the Playing with Gravity Exhibit!

“Local Master Balancer Adam Conard (ZOTO) brings the ancient art of stone balancing to the Garden through his “Playing with Gravity” exhibition. . .

“. . . This exhibit, Playing with Gravity, has never been seen before. Stacking stones is more popular; but done as an artform at the masterly level is very rare.”

An 18-acre subtropical botanical garden in Vero Beach, Florida, The McKee Botanical Garden is well worth a visit at any time of the year!

“The mission of McKee Botanical Garden is to nurture and enhance a historic garden in a unique tropical setting for the education, enjoyment and enrichment of all.“

To learn much more about the Garden’s unique and unusual history, see the Mission & History page.

At every turn there are charming bridges, bamboo structures, and inspiring water features.

And, of course, McKee is home to all manner of tropical plants and flowers – I only wish I had taken many more photos!

McKee offers a wide variety of classes and programs, an imaginative Children’s Garden space, and a lovely Garden Cafe.

The grounds also feature colorful tile Fountains and a small container garden with mounted Kaleidoscopes.

We loved exploring this incredibly LUSH and magical Garden and can’t wait to go back again sometime soon~!

One of the most unusual and spectacular displays of nature that I have ever seen. A worthwhile endeavor.
