We definitely had chillier weather here in Southeast Florida during February!
It was actually under 50° F on one of my morning walks! 🥶 😅 Everyone was bundled up, including this Tri-colored Heron, snug in his winter overcoat!

That Heron is a beauty!
My Mom said it colder than normal for her too.

Where does she live in Florida, Deborah? Funny that it was so chilly in February, and now that we’re in March, the days seem even warmer than usual. ☀️

Great photo – it does look chilly!
It’s been warmer here in Central Florida lately, but we have a “cold” front forecast for next week.

Thanks! It’s gotten much warmer here. Are you near Circle B Bar Ranch Reserve?

No, I’m in Winter Springs (just NE of Orlando). I’ve been to the Circle B a few times but it’s about a 2 hour drive for me. I need to go again.

It’s one of our favorite places, even though it takes us over three hours to get there. Definitely worth the trip. ☺️

It’s fascinating how their changing plumage and their body posture can make them look so different. Thanks for stopping by, Belinda!

Oh no! 50 degrees! That’s a nice day for us! But yes, Mr. Blue does look chilled.

Amazing how one’s perspective on the weather changes depending on what one is used to, Sue. When I lived in NY I also thought 50 was downright spring-like! ☺️

He does look a little chilled, doesn’t he? No wonder we don’t have any Green Herons in Colorado in winter. They would have to wear another down coat on top of theirs. 🙂

Even though I’m sure it was primarily for show during courting season, I imagine it also kept him warm. ☺️
