A Week in Paris with my daughter🩷 Part 1 Architecture & Landmarks

This past summer I spent a heavenly week in Paris with my amazing daughter ♥️! Although I only took iPhone shots, I can’t resist posting just a few images from our trip.

Eiffel Tower

Perhaps the most iconic landmark in Paris, “the Eiffel Tower is a wrought-iron lattice tower . . . built as the entrance arch to the 1889 World’s Fair.” (Eiffel Tower)

The famous 19th century cabaret Moulin Rouge in Montmartre… I can’t help but envision Toulouse-Lautrec sitting right there.
Arc de Triomphe

The challenge is to find the way to cross on foot safely from the sidewalk to the arch! If you’ve ever tried to weave through traffic here, you know what I mean! 😳

What a remarkable juxtaposition of the three beautiful buildings above – a fantastical street view!
The magnificent structures of the enormous Louvre Museum, seen above and below
The medieval Notre Dame cathedral still under reconstruction after the 2019 fire 🔥. Below, some close-ups of the panels surrounding the site, highlighting the talents of those involved in the renovations.

The Sainte-Chapelle, commissioned by Louis IX in the 13th century, boasts so many massive and breathtaking stained-glass windows!

Check out the video above and views below of the delightfully whimsical Stravinsky Fountain.

“Located in the heart of Paris, at the crossroads of the Halles and Marais districts, the Centre Pompidou offers one of the most beautiful views of the city and its most famous monuments.” (Centre Pompidou)

Stay tuned for Part 2 and Part 3 of this set of Paris blog posts – gardens and artwork and street scenes to come….!

  1. i’ve never been to Paris, but I will say your blog was breathtaking. I would love to see those stained-glass windows up close.
