A week in Paris with my daughter 🩷 Part 2 Street Scenes & Gardens

Last week I posted Part 1 about my marvelous summer visit to Paris with my precious one-and-only daughter! 🩷 This is Part 2.

Vintage postcards, art prints and used books can be found in stalls such as the one above, on the sidewalk overlooking the Seine.

The quintessential sidewalk scene in Paris. Outdoor cafés line every street and curve around every street corner☕️. So inviting and so delicious~!

An image of Vermeer’s famous ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’ adds a creative touch to this street sign above!

One of my absolute favorite places to visit was the Shakespeare and Company bookstore. We arrived late in the day and there were many others waiting in line to enter. Luckily we had time to explore for awhile and make some purchases at this iconic landmark! The story behind Shakespeare and Company in Paris is well worth researching!

We enjoyed strolling through the city and exploring different neighborhoods, each with its own unique flavor.

Although we arrived after the 2024 Paris Olympics were over, remnants of the various venues throughout the city were still visible.

The Salvatore Dali Sundial above was such a find! 😉 (Sundial)

We visited these two lovely gardens, one created in memory of Anne Frank and the other in memory of a Righteous Gentile named Joseph Migneret. As we walked, we passed several other small, hidden gardens, tucked away just off the main streets.

Part 3 of my blog series about our Paris trip will highlight some of the magnificent museums and works of art we saw.

I only wish I had taken many more photos! All the more reason to make another visit as soon as possible in 2025! 🇫🇷

  1. Oh, a week in Paris, what a dream come true! 🩷 With sidewalk cafés and a postcard view ☕️ Books by the Seine, what treasures you found 📚 Vintage gems waiting right there on the ground! 🖼️

In Le Marais, where the flavors collide 🍲 Kosher falafel, with a side of pride 🌈 And “Girl with a Pearl” keeping watch on the lane 🎨 Art around every corner—it’s Parisian gain! 🖌️

To Shakespeare and Company you strolled with glee ✨ Iconic, historic, so dreamy to see 🌌 With crowds at the door, yet time to explore ⏳ Among shelves of stories you’d always adore! 📖

Dali’s sundial and hidden green retreats 🌞 Paris weaves wonders along its streets 🌳 And gardens for Anne and Migneret’s name 🌸 Each corner a keepsake, each stop an acclaim! 🕊️

Now museums await in Part Three of the tale 🖼️ With art so divine, it makes the heart sail 💖 But, dear Mother, you know what they say: One trip to Paris just leads to another someday! ✈️
