Looks very similar to our Purple Swamphen

Yes! We have Purple Swamphens, too, though they are non-natives. Less elegant and graceful than the Gallinule, but very similar coloring.

I’ll miss birding and taking photos this year. The condo I was renting is being sold. Looking for another condo or mobile home for 2018.
