Green Herons are always so expressive, both in their physical appearance and in their body language.
I can’t help but think this Heron is looking down at his skinny, bare legs and wondering how he can dress a bit more modestly!

We’re always surprised at how relatively small the Green Heron can appear when he’s hunched down like me when I’m reading a book. Then he lunges out for a snack and we’re again surprised at how long it is!
The subtle hues of its plumage are just astounding!
