Great Egrets were keeping close watch on their eggs when I began this post. I went away for two weeks, and now the new chicks are already growing fast!
I’d better get back to take some photos before the little ones fledge!

Terrific chronicle of the egrets! They are such magnificent birds. It’s so special to be able to see them raising new birds which we’ll continue to marvel at for many years.

Such a treat to see nestlings grow and watch the devotion of the parents caring and feeding BJ. Lovely captures. Amazing how quickly they develop in those first weeks of life.

Yes it is, AB! I was just thinking this morning how big some of the babies are getting and yet some of them are still just little bobbleheads. And in no time at all they will be on their way, taking off independently.

It’s amazing how quickly they go from fuzz to almost adult. We have Great Blue chicks testing their wings already!

Oh yes!! There was a crowd watching one of our great blue heron chicks working on wing practice this morning!😅 The wings are so long and heavy and unwieldy, it’s amazing that they ever manage learn to fly!!

You have captured an important stage of the lives of birds. When birds, they reproduce and completely their cycle of life, they contribute to Nature and Hashem! Lovely photos my dear Carol. 🙂

Yes it is!! Amazing that the small songbirds grow and leave the nest in no time at all, and that that these large wading bird nestlings thrive and manage to take flight and head off on their on their own!
